Sunday weekend with Azkals

When Monday comes, I always wish it's Friday already. Monday means the start of a "stress week" which I always dread. If any chance we don't have shoot or coverage during weekends, I'd rather stay at home and do my pending chores. But one Sunday was an exception. I didn't dread working on Sunday (which is family day and I always spend it with my nieces and nephews) I could tell I was looking forward to it. My boss sent me to shoot the Kia Cup, one of the major events (and first on its own) of Columbian Auto Car (exclusive distributor of Kia vehicles in the Philippines) together with their partnership with the Philippine Azkals! Now tell me, who wouldn't like to work on Sundays?!

Admit it, most of us are not football fans and yes I am guilty of that. But we go gaga over Azkals because of these hunk and good looking athletes especially with these half Pinoys and half foreign blood players. I  don't exactly understands the rules and regulations of this sport, all I know is that I am one of the hundred fans who scream at the top of their lungs whenever I see my Azkal crush made a goal or the ever hot goalie Neil Etheridge would block a point from their opponent. Even if I had my eyes on these gorgeous players, the 100% Pinoy Chiffy Caligdong is definitely one of my favorites. His football skills is truly an amazing talent. He plays with zest and passion. A perfect example of a good Filipino athlete.

It's truly a pleasure to stand next to Chiffy;)

For the second time that I covered the KIA and Azkal event ( By the way, KIA is the official transport vehicle of Team Azkals) I never see their actual play. It was just a by invitation for media during their contract signing and the recent event was dedicated for some football teams and selected future football wannabes who are so adorable with their jersey's. I even caught a 2 year old boy who was highly spirited that afternoon, his energy is just contagious that even the Azkal players can't help but to play along with him. It is a rare chance to any amateur sporting team to be taught or get some tips from any national team. Azkals are kind enough to spare some precious time from their busy training schedules and commitments to spend an afternoon to these kids. A gratitude also goes to KIA for spearheading this event and for bringing Azkals closer to their supporters.

The Azkals are truly patient with kids:)
